This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.
• Oversee projects as a project manager or deputy project manager, conducting and supervising NBIS Routine, Rope Access, or Underwater bridge inspections for clients as part of our bridge team.
• Take responsibility for the scope, schedule, and budget of inspection tasks; plan multi-day field operations (traffic control, equipment, specialty access); liaise with clients and stakeholders; ensure that reports align with agency/client standards and quality control expectations.
• Utilize current, standardized bridge inspection techniques to lead NBIS Routine, Rope Access, or Underwater bridge inspections and inspections for minor and ancillary structures.
• Offer practical rehabilitation recommendations based on the conditions observed.
• Execute load ratings based on the collected field data and existing plans.
• Conduct inspections employing Non-Destructive Testing and visual inspection techniques using specialized access equipment.
• Collaborate closely with supervisors and provide guidance to assistant team leaders.
• Prepare or perform quality control on inspection reports according to client specifications.
• Work in conjunction with business and engineering personnel across various offices and technical disciplines.
• Engage in projects linked to multiple State Departments of Transportation (DOTs).
• Be prepared to travel up to 50% of each month.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent is preferred.
• Civil Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or the ability to obtain it within 6 months is preferred.
• A minimum of 6+ years of bridge inspection experience; 8+ years with project management experience is preferred.
• Certification as an Entry Level Tender/Diver, Air Diver, or Air-Diving Supervisor from the Association of Diving Contractors International (ADCI) is preferred.
• Certification from the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT) is preferred.
• Successful completion of the National Highway Institute (NHI) training course #130055 "Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges" or #130056 "Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges for Professional Engineers" is required.
• Successful completion of the National Highway Institute (NHI) training course #130078 "Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges" is preferred.
• Successful completion of the National Highway Institute (NHI) training course #130091 "Underwater Bridge Inspection" is preferred.
• Capability to lead and manage others in the field with minimal supervision.
• Experience with Non-Destructive Testing methods is preferred.
• Familiarity with UAS or confined spaces is preferred.
• Proficient understanding of bridge inspection methods and procedures.
