Brand Design Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of Berlitz's brand guidelines and visual identity from start to finish, encompassing typography, color, imagery, and motion.

• Collaborate with the Marketing team on brand strategy and translate it into visual and user-facing implementations.

• Support regional teams and franchise partners in maintaining brand consistency through established guidelines and securing their buy-in.

• Enhance Berlitz's shared design system by incorporating brand-level tokens and patterns in conjunction with the product design team.

• Establish the brand as credible and premium for enterprise clients and formal RFP processes.

• Influence the brand presence across product offerings, marketing initiatives, and sales materials.

• Create visual designs for campaigns, sales resources, internal communications, and other brand interactions.

• Oversee freelancers or agencies while maintaining control over quality and direction.

• Mentor fellow designers as the design team expands.

• Report directly to the VP of Design.

⛳️ Requirements

• A demonstrated history of building or significantly evolving a brand identity system.

• Genuine experience with B2B or enterprise branding initiatives.

• Proficiency with AI-native tools including context engineering, MCP, generative design tools, and systems thinking.

• Experience in developing guidelines for large, distributed, or multi-country organizations.

• Strong skills in typography, color theory, and visual design craftsmanship.

• Ability to work within established constraints such as an unchanged name or logo.

• Comfort in collaborating with Marketing on strategy while managing execution independently.

• Confidence in bringing structure and aesthetic to a brand that lacks a dedicated design leader.

• Fluent in English.

• Must reside in and have the current right to work in Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Spain, Portugal, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, or Malta.
