This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +24 more states.
• Assists clients with bookkeeping tasks, encompassing accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, payroll, journal entries, and reporting.
• Extensive experience in comprehensive bookkeeping with multiple clients and a strong grasp of fundamental accounting principles.
• Capable of generating and analyzing financial reports such as Balance Sheets, Profit and Loss statements, and cash flow statements, among others.
• Thorough understanding of accounting and bookkeeping, including the distinctions between cash and accrual accounting.
• Highly proficient with technology, adept at utilizing and mastering the latest accounting and office software.
• Experience in a multi-client setting.
• Exceptionally organized, skilled at managing a diverse array of projects and tasks, ensuring nothing is overlooked.
• Guarantees that month-end accounting deadlines are adhered to, with all necessary reports prepared promptly.
• Takes proactive measures to ensure smooth month-end and year-end processes, minimizing time requirements at the conclusion of these periods.
• Aids in gathering client information for tax preparation as required and agreed upon by HigherRing (typically limited to requesting W-9s, preparing 1099s, and providing reports).
• Assists in the organization, systematization, and documentation of processes and procedures.
• Comfortable conducting research to find answers or the most effective methods for working within client systems.
• Performs additional tasks as assigned.
• Over 10 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Proficient in bookkeeping software such as QuickBooks (Online and Desktop), Xero, FreshBooks, Sage, NetSuite, Wave, Intacct, and Procore.
• Skilled in Google Workspace, Slack, and Asana (or similar tools).
• A two-year accounting degree is preferred.
• Relevant credentials/certifications are advantageous, such as QB Pro Certification (QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor).
• High level of customer service, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both client and team interactions.
• Proficient in engaging with customers via video and audio tools in a professional, friendly, and reassuring manner.
• Bilingual - fluency in both oral and written English and Spanish.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills, and the capability to maintain focus.
• Exceptional active listening skills and the ability to use positive language to reinforce client partnerships during challenging situations.
• Resilience in problem-solving and the ability to uphold a positive demeanor, even on difficult days.
• Technologically adept; solid understanding of computer operations and software, including familiarity with various browsers, tabs, window navigation, and instant messaging tools.
• Committed and reliable work ethic.
