This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and manage financial records utilizing QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QuickBooks Desktop (QBD)
• Execute daily accounting transactions while ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger
• Prepare and record journal entries
• Conduct monthly reconciliations for bank accounts and credit cards
• Process payroll accurately and on schedule, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations
• Compile and submit quarterly payroll tax returns, including IRS Form 941
• Generate annual W-2 and 1099 reports as necessary
• Prepare and file local mercantile/business privilege tax returns
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Monitor cash balances and assist in cash management activities
• Aid in month-end and year-end closing processes
• Create internal financial statements and management reports for business leaders and ownership
• Analyze financial records to detect discrepancies and propose corrective measures
• Assist CPA firms and management with tax preparation, audits, and financial reviews
• Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation in line with company standards
• Help with compliance-related reporting duties and regulatory filings
• Provide assistance for bookkeeping cleanup and catch-up initiatives as required
• Engage professionally with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders about financial issues
• Stay updated on accounting best practices, payroll regulations, and tax filing guidelines
• Safeguard the confidentiality of sensitive financial and payroll data
• Undertake additional tasks as assigned
• An associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
• A minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience is required
• Experience supporting multiple business entities or small business clients is preferred
• QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor (QBO Certified) designation is preferred
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QuickBooks Desktop (QBD)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel
• Experience in processing payroll and payroll tax filings is essential
• Experience in preparing and submitting IRS Form 941 and other quarterly payroll tax returns is required
• Familiarity with preparing and filing local mercantile and business tax returns is preferred
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with remarkable attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the capacity to nurture effective working relationships with clients and internal teams
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities, work independently with minimal supervision, and consistently meet deadlines in a high-paced environment
