This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Ensuring precise financial records are maintained utilizing Xero.
• Handling accounts payable and receivable processes, including generating and following up on invoices.
• Regularly reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet items.
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns in accordance with HMRC regulations.
• Overseeing payroll processing or coordinating with an external payroll service provider.
• Assisting with month-end closing procedures and generating management reports.
• Keeping an organized and audit-ready filing system for financial documents.
• Collaborating with our external accountant as needed.
• Recognizing and addressing any financial inconsistencies or suggesting process enhancements.
• Updating financial models, such as Cash Flow, to ensure accurate reporting.
• A minimum of 3–5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a small to medium-sized business.
• Proficient in Xero, with the ability to navigate the platform effectively from day one.
• Strong knowledge of VAT, bank reconciliation, and management accounts.
• AAT qualified (or equivalent); both full and part qualifications will be considered.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a systematic and organized working style.
• Comfortable with remote work and capable of managing your own tasks with minimal oversight.
• Excellent communication skills, able to clarify financial topics to non-finance colleagues.
