• The Bookkeeper is accountable for overseeing the daily financial operations of the organization, reporting directly to the Director and providing support to multiple entities.
• Working approximately 6-8 hours per week, this position manages payroll, accounts payable and receivable, bank and AMEX reconciliations, superannuation processing, and weekly debtor management, while ensuring precise record-keeping in Xero.
• The Bookkeeper also works closely with the external accounting firm to facilitate bi-monthly reporting, BAS preparation, and compliance with financial regulations, ensuring efficient, timely, and accurate financial management throughout the business.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Bookkeeping or Accounts role, preferably within a small to medium-sized business or agency managing multiple entities.
• Demonstrated experience in processing end-to-end payroll, encompassing leave management and superannuation, with a solid understanding of Australian payroll compliance and Fair Work standards.
• Proven hands-on experience with Xero (essential), including payroll, bank feeds, reporting, and employee record management.
• Extensive experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, covering payment runs, supplier reconciliations, debtor management, and client billing.
• Strong background in completing bank and credit card reconciliations (including high-volume AMEX transactions) with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of BAS preparation requirements and the ability to effectively communicate with external accountants regarding lodgements and compliance.
• Experience in collaborating with external accounting firms and responding to periodic financial reporting requests.
• In-depth understanding of GST, superannuation obligations, and general Australian accounting compliance requirements.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the capability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision (6–8 hours per week structure).
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks across multiple business entities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to confidently and professionally engage with leadership, suppliers, and external accountants.
• Relevant qualifications in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Finance (Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting preferred; BAS Agent registration is highly regarded but not mandatory).
