This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +19 more states.
• Evaluate files for coverage, liability, and timely management.
• Provide recommendations for handling and offer guidance to team members.
• Ensure that ongoing claims processing adheres to company standards and industry best practices and regulations.
• A vital responsibility is granting authority to accept, defer, or reject demands.
• Approving timecards is an essential task.
• Review BI and UMBI evaluations for accuracy and suggest negotiation strategies.
• Determine, recommend, and authorize settlement and payment processes within the designated authority framework.
• Support training initiatives involving Decision Net, CMS Reporting Portal, Acrobat Reader Docu-Sign, ISO Claim Search, and other requested processes.
• Regularly lead team meetings and conduct one-on-one coaching sessions with direct reports.
• Assist in compiling data for the quarterly Litigation Calibration report.
• Help assign new files to members of the BI/Litigation team.
• Create follow-up tasks for yourself or management on all newly assigned BI/Litigation files.
• Provide continuous task monitoring throughout the lifecycle of specific files and/or file handlers.
• Track and follow up on files that have not been worked in 30 days, those closed with open reserves, and overdue tasks greater than four days delinquent.
• Resolve complaint calls within your expertise and authority, escalating others to management.
• Conduct regular reserve adequacy reviews and recommend reserve increases when necessary.
• Authorize the use of certain approved vendors to assist with securing ANOIs and other tasks, and permit accident reconstructionists to evaluate minimum impact claims.
• Review vendor and legal invoices, authorizing payment except for invoices related to expert retention, trials, and those exceeding $4000.
• Oversee PLDs and TLDs for timely processing and responses.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, Department of Insurance criteria, and insurance carrier standards while enforcing Aspire General Insurance Company and partner policies, procedures, and work rules.
• Assist in identifying, recruiting, hiring, and developing top claims talent.
• Meet targeted performance goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Over eight years of experience in Property and Casualty insurance claims.
• A deep understanding of insurance industry practices, standards, and terminology is essential.
• Significant experience managing litigated, property damage, and injury claims.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Capability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities is required.
• A disciplined approach to all job-related activities is necessary.
• A strong foundation in personal organization, sound decision-making, analytical skills, and excellent interpersonal and customer service skills is essential.
• Proficient keyboard skills and familiarity with Windows and MS Office products are required.
