Board Certified Physician Reviewer – Neurological Surgery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Dane Street is an Independent Review Organization and a national provider of Utilization Review services, among other offerings, and we are expanding our physician panel, creating opportunities for non-traditional physician roles and supplemental income.

• This position offers a telework opportunity for physicians, allowing you to manage a caseload tailored to your schedule.

• Our physician panel consists of independent contract reviewers (1099) who are compensated on a per-case basis.

• We are seeking specialists listed below who possess an active **Tennessee License** to evaluate the medical necessity of treatment requests and, in cases of appeals, the medical necessity of previously denied services.

• Most reviews typically require an average of 15-20 minutes, enabling you to handle multiple cases within an hour.

• Training and onboarding can be completed in under one week, allowing you to start earning compensation for reviews while continuing your active practice.

• The independent consultant role provides schedule flexibility and predictable work hours. You have the freedom to choose services and case types, determine volume, and conduct this work based on your available schedule.

• No doctor/patient relationship is formed, and no treatment is provided. The services rendered are advisory-only opinions.

• The typical turnaround time (TAT) is between 1-5 business days, depending on the review level. While same-day cases are infrequent, they may happen. Dane Street keeps you informed of required turnaround times and meticulously coordinates all administrative tasks, allowing you to focus on clinical decision-making.

• Dane Street provides a streamlined case flow and a user-friendly work portal. We manage all communications, organize and sort all medical records, support all administrative processes, extensively prepare cases, and ensure the quality and timely delivery of all determinations and reports.

• A chronological list of medical records, along with all treatment guidelines used to reach a determination, is provided in an easy, click-to-view format.

• In instances where peer-to-peer calls are necessary (such as adverse determinations), Dane Street’s peer coordinators will secure provider availability.

• Dane Street offers initial training and provides an ongoing point of contact for any questions you may have about completing reviews.
