BMC Remedy/Helix Developer – Active Secret Clearance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Leverage technology to create opportunities as a BMC Remedy/Helix Developer at GDIT.

• Offer precise technical advice on ITSM and CMDB application and integration capabilities.

• Collect requirements, prepare and present demonstrations, conduct requirement analysis, and draft requirement and design documentation, implementation guides, test scripts, and build documentation.

• Create Pentaho Spoon Jobs and Transformations to import data into the CMDB.

• Add fields and set up, monitor, and maintain Atrium Core products, including datasets, reconciliation, and normalization.

• Develop or enhance service offerings, products, functionality, or integrations using Developer Studio, Innovation Studio, Pentaho Spoon, Dashboards, or other platforms.

• Create or update RestAPI, WebService, and LDAP integrations between Helix and external applications/systems.

• Handle incident assignments, communicate with customers according to defined methods and within service level agreements, and generate follow-on change requests and Jira stories for adjustments.

• Prepare and manage change requests, adhere to established operating procedures, maintain and update the Production environment, and meet key performance indicator targets.

• Manage multiple projects involving customer onboarding, ad-hoc requests, sustainment support, and ongoing service improvement initiatives.

• Identify and convey discrepancies between out-of-the-box workflows and custom requirements.

• Collaborate with teams to offer out-of-the-box solutions to minimize customization.

• Provide advice on and create long-term, maintainable customizations when out-of-the-box solutions are not feasible.

• Ensure system production support and maintain system integrity by applying defined configuration control practices and change management processes.

• Manage your sprint workload, anticipate work products and deadlines, adhere to milestones, minimize technical debt, and showcase completed sprint products through demonstrations.

• Participate in on-call rotation, daily scrums, sprint planning sessions, technical implementation reviews, approved service interruption change windows, and other necessary requests.

• Operate within a remote team setting, supporting scheduled and ad-hoc video/audio meetings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software development.

• Active Secret clearance.

• BMC Accredited Administrator or equivalent experience with Remedy/Helix Developer Studio.

• Familiarity with SaaS solutions or AWS Cloud environments.

• Experience with BMC Remedy version 21.x or later.

• Understanding of ITIL methodologies; ITIL Foundation certification is a plus.

• Proficient in ITSM/CMDB/DWP process flows.

• Expert knowledge of one or more 21.x+ Helix applications, including Incident Management, Remedy Knowledge Management, Change Management, Task Management, Release Management, Service Level Management, Service Request Management, Smart Reporting, Helix Dashboards, Smart IT, Digital WorkPlace Portal (DWP), Configuration Management Database (CMDB), or Asset Management.

• Experience with one or more of the following: Pentaho Spoon, BMC HDM, RestAPI, or Webservices for building and/or maintaining system interfaces or migrating data.

• Experience in other Helix applications such as IT Operations Management, Business Workflows, or Business Portfolio Manager.

• Experience in an Agile project methodology environment.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficient in creating and editing documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Advanced data analysis skills using Microsoft Excel or similar tools.

• Ability to illustrate process flows using Microsoft Visio or a comparable tool.

• Experience managing documents via Microsoft SharePoint.

• Basic understanding of relational databases.

• Knowledge of networking concepts and OSI model rules.

• Capability to utilize logging for troubleshooting issues.

• Experience in delivering demonstrations to customers.

• Experience in requirement gathering from customers.

• Proficiency in documenting requirements.

• Experience in mentoring and leading technical teams.

• Required Certification: CompTIA Security+ CE certification (may be obtained within 3 months from start date).
