This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Write or commission 2–3 blog posts monthly, which may include contributions from authors on newly published articles, blog series, comprehensive pieces on trends or debates, and community-centered content.
• Review and edit commissioned draft posts prior to publication to ensure quality and consistency with the blog’s style and tone.
• Provide assistance with copy-editing and publishing research summaries on an as-needed basis.
• Participate in a monthly online meeting to discuss forthcoming plans and generate new ideas for blog content.
• Create promotional copy for blog posts on social media and actively engage in promoting these posts.
• Represent the journal and blog at relevant conferences, meetings, and workshops upon request.
• Collaborate with the journals’ Editorial Offices to identify, commission, and deliver scientifically sound, high-quality blog content.
• Receive specialized training in Canva and WordPress and contribute to the journal's social media accounts.
• PhD in ecology or a related field.
• Exceptional written English skills.
• Clear and effective communication abilities.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good organizational and project management capabilities.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Networking skills and a willingness to utilize these when creating topical blog posts.
• Capability to identify gaps in existing content and develop new initiatives.
• Determination and self-motivation.
• Experience contributing to a scientific blog or similar is preferred, but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with social media is preferred, but not mandatory.
• Experience with podcasting and video editing is preferred, but not mandatory.
• A CV and cover letter not exceeding 500 words are required for application.
