This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Provide expert technical guidance on blast and protection engineering.
• Lead the design of blast protection measures, including CFD modeling to assess impacts on building structures and complex structural analysis.
• Oversee the production and management of workloads for blast-related projects.
• Develop work plans, outline tasks, and guarantee quality management and technical assurance.
• Collaborate closely with clients to comprehend their business practices and objectives, identify challenges, and create effective solutions.
• Engage with sector leaders in our Building & Places Business unit and coordinate with general Building Engineering teams.
• Contribute to business development efforts, including sales and securing new work.
• Conduct thorough assessments of threats, likelihood, and consequences to evaluate risk severity and identify appropriate treatments.
• Generate high-quality documentation, such as employer’s requirements, specifications, feasibility studies, and concept/scheme designs.
• Manage projects on behalf of clients, including progress reporting and contract administration when applicable.
• Advocate for best practices in Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) and assist with knowledge management within the team.
• Extensive technical knowledge of security with specialized expertise in blast analysis and design.
• Demonstrated ability to ascertain operational and strategic requirements to establish a design foundation.
• Proficiency in blast modeling and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to accurately represent blast wave-structure interaction.
• Skilled in using ANSYS, AutoDyn, or similar software for advanced 3D finite element modeling and fluid-structure interaction.
• Strong comprehension of physical security measures (doors, locks, walls, fencing, glazing) and associated performance standards.
• Experience in threat mitigation, structural vulnerability assessments, façade and glass analysis, collision and high-speed impact evaluations, and the impact of fire on structures.
• Exceptional document writing abilities with a keen eye for detail.
• Robust project management skills.
• Strong technical and design competencies in structural design and security evaluations.
• Good numerical and analytical skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to engage with senior stakeholders and diverse groups (architects, contractors, etc.).
• Tact, persuasive skills, and a collaborative team-oriented spirit.
• Proficient IT skills and self-driven.
• Capability to obtain or hold Security Clearance.
