Biostatistician, Neurology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Conduct analysis on extensive longitudinal data derived from electronic health records, laboratory and pharmacy databases, as well as patient-reported outcomes surveys.

• Offer expertise in statistical design, data management, data quality control, and data analysis specifically for observational and longitudinal research.

• Collaborate as a coauthor on manuscripts and presentations that communicate study findings.

• Utilize and enhance SAS and R programs to clean and organize data from JHHCC and CNICS.

• Identify issues with study data and work alongside data managers to resolve these problems.

• Review concept sheets and draft statistical analysis plans.

• Create analytic datasets, codebooks, and necessary documentation.

• Analyze individual-level data to address scientific inquiries.

• Prepare tables and figures for academic publications and scientific conferences.

• Contribute to technical and scientific writing, and review concept sheets, reports, posters, and manuscripts.

• Document study decisions and preserve code for reproducibility.

• Maintain a transparent and shared research workspace.

• Assist in developing approach sections for research proposals.

• Attend meetings and provide updates on project status.

• Support statistical analysis plans and data collection tools, including CRFs.

• Create specifications for derived datasets and program these datasets.

• Develop and program table, listing, and figure shells along with TLFs.

• Conduct ad hoc analyses, including sample-size calculations and analyses of data missingness.

• Collaborate with project management to establish analysis timelines.

• Perform other assigned duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's Degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative discipline.

• Additional education may substitute for required experience according to the JHU equivalency formula.

• Proficiency in biostatistical analysis.

• Experience in data management and analysis.

• Skills in data validation and quality assurance.

• Capabilities in data visualization.

• Knowledge of regulatory compliance.

• Familiarity with reproducible research practices.

• Competence in scientific communication.

• Proficiency in statistical methods.

• Experience with statistical programming.

• Ability to utilize SAS and R effectively.

• Capacity to handle sensitive information with professional discretion.

• Successful candidates will undergo a pre-employment background check.

• Availability for full-time work, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
