Biomedical Technician 1

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Assess fundamental customer biomedical equipment concerns, carry out necessary repairs, and perform preventive maintenance and safety/environmental inspections as assigned.

• Support more seasoned technicians with both basic and complex repair tasks and resolutions.

• Communicate effectively and collaborate with team members and colleagues.

• Adhere to relevant GE policies, procedures, hospital protocols, and complete required documentation.

• Maintain regular communication with customers to ensure issues are resolved and followed up on, fostering strong customer relationships and satisfaction.

• Record all repair activities and submit reports/summaries in accordance with the established schedule.

• Ensure proper maintenance of spare parts, tools, and testing equipment, confirming calibration is up to standard.

• Comply with Health and Human Services, Environmental Health and Safety standards, and all other relevant regulatory requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline; OR equivalent military education; OR completion of the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program; OR a High School Diploma/GED accompanied by 2+ years of experience in servicing electrical, electronic, IT, or mechanical equipment.

• Strong analytical and communication abilities, with the skill to convey technical issues to customers in an easily comprehensible manner.

• The candidate must be capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs. without assistance, and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for extended periods.

• Willingness to be available for "after hours" support or to participate in a rotating On-Call schedule, including weekends, to address critical issues as needed.
