Biomedical Technician 1

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Respond to service requests to assess, diagnose, and execute repairs and planned maintenance (PM) on basic biomedical equipment for customers.

• Enhance customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional service.

• Under supervision, evaluate fundamental customer biomedical equipment issues, carry out necessary repairs, and, as assigned, conduct PM and safety/environmental inspections.

• Act as the primary field service technician for IV infusion pumps, emphasizing repair and preventive maintenance.

• Provide on-site services at healthcare facilities across the Chicago metropolitan area, necessitating regular local travel.

• Record all repair activities and submit reports/summaries as per the established schedule.

• Adhere to Health and Human Services, Environmental Health and Safety regulations, and all other relevant regulatory standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline; OR equivalent military education; OR participation in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program.

• High School Diploma/GED alongside 2+ years of experience in servicing electrical, electronics, IT, or mechanical equipment.

• Strong analytical and communication skills with the capability to convey technical issues to customers in an easily comprehensible manner.

• Must meet GEHC's standard background check requirements, including a post-offer drug screening.

• Availability for 'after hours' work, or participation in a rotating On-Call schedule, including weekends, for urgent issues and coverage as needed.

• The candidate must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for extended periods.
