This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Responds to service requests to assess, diagnose, and carry out repairs and planned maintenance (PM) on customers' basic biomedical equipment.
• Drives customer satisfaction through exceptional service delivery.
• Assess basic issues with customer biomedical equipment, implement necessary repairs, and, when assigned, conduct PM and safety/environmental inspections.
• Assist more seasoned technicians with both basic and more intricate repairs and resolutions.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with teammates and colleagues.
• Adhere to relevant GE policies, procedures, hospital protocols, and complete necessary documentation.
• Maintain regular communications with customers to ensure issues are resolved and proper follow-up occurs, fostering strong customer relationships and ongoing satisfaction.
• Implement GE/customer facility contracts and support business goals and objectives.
• Collaborate as part of a local team to ensure efficient service delivery across all accounts within the designated area.
• Share on-call duties when trained.
• Document all repair activities and submit reports/summaries according to the established schedule.
• Ensure proper care of spare parts, tools, and testing equipment, and maintain calibration.
• Enhance and sustain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures for the safe and effective use of medical equipment through formal training.
• Understand and utilize available resources for assistance (e.g., manuals, technical support, Facetime app, online resources).
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; OR equivalent military education; OR participation in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program; OR High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years of experience servicing electrical, electronics, IT, or mechanical equipment.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to convey technical issues to customers in an easily understandable manner.
• Comply with GEHC's standard background check, including a post-offer drug screening.
• Adhere to all customer access policies, which may include obtaining and/or providing proof of required immunizations, as well as additional drug tests or background checks (including a federal government background check if assigned to support a federal contract).
