Bioinformatics Manager – Oncology Product Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the development, optimization, and enhancement of tools and analysis pipelines for diagnostic tests, focusing on identifying cancer-associated variants or methylation patterns while implementing evidence-based quality control standards.

• Offer technical leadership for product development initiatives by representing the team in cross-functional collaborations and guiding products through the entire development lifecycle, from research to commercial launch.

• Oversee bioinformatics scientists and data scientists, managing their technical inputs, prioritizing resources, and ensuring their technical and professional growth.

• Provide insights on experiment design, analysis, and interpretation, leveraging expert knowledge of Natera’s technology and relevant mathematical concepts.

• Operate with a high degree of independence and accountability in executing tasks.

• Contribute to the enhancement of our intellectual property portfolio.

• Establish benchmarks for rigorous data analysis and lead the creation of high-quality documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a quantitative field (bioinformatics, engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, or a related area).

• A minimum of 4-8 years of post-graduate experience in a data science and/or bioinformatics position, with 1-3 years in a technical lead role within diagnostics or a comparable field.

• Proven experience in advancing algorithm-based products through commercialization and launch in medical or biological contexts, such as diagnostic testing, medical imaging, or biotechnology.

• Previous experience in analyzing or modeling DNA methylation data is preferred, but not mandatory.
