Bioinformatics Engineer – Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Design and implement robust and reproducible scientific workflows utilizing Nextflow.

• Provide accessible workflows to customers for comprehensive data analysis and visualization.

• Create and deliver solutions that enhance the adoption of Seqera products.

• Develop, deploy, and sustain cloud data infrastructures for next-generation sequencing (NGS), imaging analysis, machine learning, and extensive datasets.

• Grasp the biological applications and scientific requirements underlying workflows.

• Relay service delivery updates through project plans, requirements, deliverables, documentation, training, writing, and presentations.

• Collaborate with customers to gather requirements and formulate project deliverables.

• Oversee project execution.

• Educate customers on the use of Seqera products.

• Advocate for the customer perspective and work alongside content, research, and software development teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient knowledge of the Nextflow language and pipeline development practices implemented by nf-core.

• Experience programming in Groovy, Python, and R.

• Capability to communicate and elucidate technology through code, writing, presentations, and demonstrations.

• Application of AI in software development and scientific analysis.

• Familiarity with Git or other version control systems within a software development context.

• Extensive experience with analysis pipelines and algorithms for genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and various omics data types.

• Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) and public cloud infrastructures, including AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.

• Customer-focused mindset and a passion for assisting in solution discovery.

• PhD in bioinformatics or a related field, or a Master's degree coupled with 3 years of experience (preferred).

• Over 4 years of experience relevant to scientific workflows and software development (preferred).

• Experience with orchestrated and maintained data infrastructures and scalable pipelines for large datasets (preferred).

• Evidence of production-level bioinformatics code through public repositories, publications, or contributions to open source (preferred).

• Submission of a public code repository link and a brief narrative is required with the application.
