Billing Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Dakota.

📋 Description

• Manage both paper and electronic claims ensuring all information is complete for payment processing.

• Generate precise and timely claims to minimize denials and optimize reimbursement processes.

• Handle designated queues in the patient accounting system and rectify claim scrubber edits prior to submission.

• Evaluate submissions in advance and implement corrections to facilitate first-time payments.

• Investigate and relay updates regarding payer, HIPAA, and regulatory changes that impact claims billing.

• Suggest enhancements for billing processes, systems, and revenue cycle management.

• Collaborate closely with both internal and external stakeholders linked to the billing system.

• Support the creation of training materials.

• Foster and strengthen positive relationships with patients, team members, and other individuals.

• Carry out responsibilities of a similar nature as necessary depending on the location.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred: At least 1 year of experience in healthcare billing, revenue services, or coding.

• A medical certification or degree is preferred.

• Exceptional customer service skills are essential.

• Proficient in accurately and timely processing of paper and electronic claims.

• Capability to manage assigned work queues within the patient accounting system and handle claim scrubber edits effectively.

• Familiarity with payer, HIPAA, and other regulatory changes influencing health insurance claims billing.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills with insurance companies, credentialing, access, managed care, and other relevant stakeholders.
