• Diligently track open claims with thoroughness, accuracy, timeliness, and all necessary supporting documentation.
• Accountable for the maintenance and updates of billing guidelines, fee schedules, contract rates, and more.
• Examine, document, and address all incoming correspondence and payor inquiries.
• Provide assistance as required.
• Report any payor issues and/or patterns in denials to the Lead/Supervisor.
• May appeal and/or rebill underpaid claims and assist with payments as necessary.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Possession of a high school diploma or a general education degree (GED).
• 1-2 years of relevant experience and/or training.
• Preferred: 1-2 years of experience in medical billing and claims reimbursement.
• Preferred: Familiarity with all Government, Commercial, and Private payers.
• Preferred: Knowledge of medical and billing terminology.
• Preferred: Understanding of HIPAA and other industry-specific regulations.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a high level of collaboration across all levels.
• Excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail, and capability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines.
• Intermediate skills in customer service and phone communication.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
