This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +27 more states.
• Provide accurate and timely assistance to both internal and external customers regarding coding and billing inquiries.
• Conduct retrospective reviews of coding and billing for outpatient hospital claims.
• Support the processing of outpatient claims.
• Offer correction recommendations to internal team members or clients, based on coding standards, industry billing practices, or payer-specific guidelines.
• Stay informed about updates and changes in coding guidelines and payer-specific billing standards for both commercial and government payers.
• Understand payment methodologies and their relevance to billing and coding situations.
• Foster strong, enduring relationships with Revecore personnel.
• Participate in department and company meetings as necessary.
• Adhere to federal and state regulations as well as company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with associated responsibilities to fulfill business requirements.
• Undertake other duties as assigned.
• AAPC or AHIMA Coding certification is required, such as CPC, COC, CIC, CCS-P, or CCS.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in hospital coding or auditing.
• Knowledge of Managed Care, Medicare, and Medicaid billing and reimbursement standards.
• Familiarity with inpatient and outpatient hospital reimbursement methodologies.
• Proficiency in mathematical concepts related to claim payment methodologies.
• Ability to read and interpret claims, instructions, policies, procedures, and diagrams in English.
• Capability to articulate ideas on complex, detailed matters.
• Proficient in problem definition, data collection, fact establishment, and drawing valid conclusions.
• Strong team player with a willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
• Commitment to upholding company values.
• High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• Competence in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
• Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and gaining expertise in internal applications.
• Strong skills in computer navigation.
• Ability to use multiple software programs concurrently.
• A quiet, distraction-free home work environment is essential.
• A reliable private hard-wired internet connection is required; cellular data or hotspot connections are not acceptable.
• Home internet speeds must exceed 20 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.
• Workspace must accommodate workstation equipment and related materials.
• Must reside in an approved U.S. state as listed in the posting.
