Bilingual Medical Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Guatemala.

📋 Description

• Manage patient calls and messages by identifying urgent issues and escalating cases as necessary.

• Assist providers with follow-up care, medication management, and coordination of care.

• Relay laboratory results, prescriptions, and treatment guidelines under the supervision of providers.

• Deliver compassionate and professional support throughout the entire patient care process.

• Document patient interactions, medical histories, and provider notes accurately.

• Ensure electronic medical records (EMRs) are complete and up-to-date.

• Confirm that documentation adheres to clinical, legal, and organizational standards.

• Aid providers by preparing precise patient information for clinical assessments.

• Schedule appointments and facilitate patient follow-ups.

• Help manage referrals and communication among providers, patients, and external healthcare entities.

• Support administrative workflows, including billing coordination and report preparation as needed.

• Keep patient records organized while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

• Assist providers with daily clinical and operational tasks.

• Uphold confidentiality when handling protected health information.

• Contribute to efficient workflow management and enhancing patient satisfaction.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2+ years of clinical experience in hospitals, clinics, medical offices, or healthcare organizations.

• A valid Medical Assistant license or equivalent clinical certification is required.

• Registered Nurses (RN) or Medical Doctors (MD) are strongly preferred.

• Resume must clearly reflect current license or certification status.

• Deep understanding of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and patient care standards.

• Proven experience in patient triage and urgency assessment.

• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) systems is essential.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.

• Advanced English proficiency (C1) is mandatory.

• Strong organizational abilities and exceptional attention to detail.

• Comfortable working remotely during U.S. business hours.
