This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.
• Manage incoming patient calls and messages, prioritizing urgent matters and escalating cases when necessary.
• Assist healthcare providers with patient follow-ups, medication oversight, and care coordination.
• Relay laboratory results, prescriptions, and treatment guidelines under the supervision of providers.
• Ensure accurate documentation of patient interactions, medical histories, and notes from providers.
• Keep electronic medical records (EMRs) comprehensive and current.
• Organize appointment scheduling and coordinate follow-up care for patients.
• Help with managing referrals and facilitate communication between providers, patients, and external healthcare entities.
• Aid in administrative tasks, billing coordination, and preparation of reports as required.
• Uphold confidentiality when managing protected health information.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
• A minimum of 2+ years of clinical experience in hospitals, clinics, medical offices, or healthcare organizations.
• A valid Medical Assistant license or equivalent clinical certification is mandatory.
• Preference will be given to Registered Nurses (RN) or Medical Doctors (MD).
• Resume must clearly reflect current license or certification status.
• In-depth understanding of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and patient care protocols.
• Experience in patient triage and urgency evaluation is required.
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) systems is necessary.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1) is required.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential.
• Must be comfortable working remotely during U.S. business hours.
