This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.
• Identify areas for optimization by collaborating directly with enterprise clients and analyzing their workloads.
• Rapidly prototype features — create proof-of-concepts initially and refine them later.
• Conduct customer pilot programs: design experiments, collect feedback, and determine whether to iterate or discontinue.
• Transition validated prototypes to General Availability (GA): establish production-grade pipelines, APIs, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Promote the adoption of released features — assist with onboarding, provide technical Q&A, and troubleshoot issues.
• Investigate and address real-world data discrepancies, pipeline challenges, and BigQuery cost inquiries.
• Incorporate field insights into product strategy — you’ll possess unparalleled customer context.
• 5+ years of experience in software or data engineering — you have successfully delivered real features to actual users.
• Extensive expertise in BigQuery — understanding of slots, reservations, pricing structures, INFORMATION_SCHEMA, and query optimization is essential. This is a mandatory requirement; we will assess this skill. (Equivalent expertise in another data warehouse, along with a willingness to quickly learn BigQuery, is also acceptable.)
• Proficient in SQL.
• Comfortable working with backend code (any programming language) — you are willing to dive in when necessary.
• Experienced with agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) in real production environments — not solely in demos.
• Customer-facing instincts — capable of leading a technical discussion with an enterprise team without the guidance of an Account Executive.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity — you will frequently define the problem before finding a solution.
• Autonomy — you will work within a small team with no middle management, taking ownership of outcomes.
• Strong advantage: background in GCP cost management, FinOps, or query execution planning.
• Experience in taking a feature from conception to GA, not just maintaining existing features.
• Previous experience as a Solutions Architect, Technical Account Manager (TAM), or Forward Deployed Engineer in the data domain.
• Enjoy a balanced work-life with financial initiatives supporting both physical and mental well-being, including green commuting options and support for remote work, commuting, and eyeglasses (varies by location).
• Access continuous training and learning opportunities with designated yearly learning hours during working time, including language courses (English and German).
• Participate in social activities for all employees, such as team-building events, company breakfasts, holiday celebrations (Christmas, Halloween), alumni gatherings, sports events, professional meetups, and darts tournaments.
