This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• A BI Engineer plays a vital role in developing repeatable reporting assets.

• Responsible for designing and creating BI reporting and data platforms.

• Develop user-facing data visualization and presentation tools, which may include Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports, Power BI dashboards, MicroStrategy, and Excel PivotTables.

• Engage in the development of data retrieval and management processes for Evolent Health.

• Aid in ensuring that the organization's BI data assets align with its strategic goals.

• Assist in implementing effective business analytics practices to improve decision-making, efficiency, and performance.

• Support technology enhancements to ensure ongoing improvements to the core BI platform.

• Capable of performing complex data analysis using advanced SQL skills and Excel to fulfill internal/external client data requests and ad-hoc inquiries for business continuity and analytics.

• Communicate with non-technical business users to gather detailed requirements for reports and BI solutions.

• Provide maintenance support for existing BI applications and reports.

• Present work as needed and participate in knowledge-sharing sessions with team members.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 3 years of experience in the BI/Data Warehouse domain, developing BI solutions and performing data analysis tasks using MSBI suites.

• Strong expertise in Power BI, including building reports, dashboards, DAX, and Power Query (M).

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Lakehouses, Dataflows Gen2, Direct Lake capabilities, and PowerAutomate.

• Familiarity with Azure Data Services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, or similar.

• Practical experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

• Knowledge of Advanced SQL for data manipulation and performance optimization.

• Experience in implementing ETL/ELT pipelines.

• Ability to work with both relational and cloud-based data sources.

• Preferred experience in the healthcare industry, particularly with authorizations, claims, eligibility, and patient clinical data.

• Preferred knowledge in Python, Spark, or Databricks for data engineering or transformation.

• Familiarity with DevOps/GitRepo for BI, including deployment, is preferred.
