BI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Burundi.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and sustain interactive dashboards, visualizations, analyses, and reporting solutions using TIBCO Spotfire.

• Take ownership of the complete delivery process for BI solutions, encompassing requirements gathering, data modeling, calculations, and the development of reports and dashboards.

• Influence the design strategy and framework for data models and calculations.

• Establish templates that other developers can utilize.

• Manage version control and deployment processes through GitHub, including conducting code reviews and approvals.

• Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and product teams to proactively address data and quality challenges.

• Recognize and escalate risks or inefficiencies at an early stage.

• Guide and mentor team members in their design choices.

• Define and promote the adoption of BI standards and best practices.

• Work independently and make informed decisions regarding trade-offs without needing sign-off.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in BI development.

• Extensive practical experience in designing and developing dashboards, visualizations, analyses, and reporting solutions using TIBCO Spotfire.

• Proficiency in Power BI.

• Willingness and capability to work across various BI and visualization platforms.

• Strong skills in data modeling, including star schema, relationships, and performance optimization at scale.

• Knowledge of multi-tenant data architecture and Row-Level Security (RLS).

• Practical experience with GitHub in a team deployment context.

• Demonstrated ability to manage deliverables independently.

• Strong communication abilities with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Proactive, detail-oriented, and consistent in follow-through.

• Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Flexible across different BI and visualization platforms.
