This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the design and implementation of utility-scale battery energy storage systems.
• Oversee the entire BESS project lifecycle from land acquisition to commercial operation date (COD).
• Facilitate technical discussions with the BESS original equipment manufacturer (OEM), engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors, and their subcontractors.
• Design and size utility-scale battery energy storage systems to align with project objectives.
• Create and enhance performance models to maximize system efficiency.
• Integrate storage systems with generation assets effectively.
• Develop and validate calculation tools for medium-voltage infrastructure.
• Aid in power plant design that adheres to electrical and safety regulations.
• Implement engineering best practices to guarantee safe, scalable, and compliant system architecture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to realize project goals.
• Contribute to the delivery of dependable, high-performance storage solutions.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is essential; a Master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
• 3 to 7 years of experience in energy storage, power generation, or related fields.
• Practical experience in designing or supporting utility-scale energy storage or large power systems.
• Strong grasp of grid integration and principles of power systems engineering.
• Proficient in BESS sizing, system design, and performance modeling.
• Background in developing medium-voltage infrastructure models and aiding in large-scale plant design.
• Familiarity with lithium-ion battery systems, especially LFP chemistry for stationary applications.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and other relevant electrical and safety standards.
• Experience with modeling tools such as PSCAD, ETAP, or other similar platforms.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Established relationships within the energy storage sector.
• Understanding of energy markets, project development processes, and performance optimization techniques.
• A collaborative and detail-oriented approach to work.
