This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +4 more states.
• Manage the execution and decision-making of benefit programs for specified categories of U.S. benefits changes.
• Oversee the execution and decision-making of benefits programs for Canada and LATAM.
• Convert global benefits strategy, market trends, utilization data, and regulatory requirements into recommendations and implementation plans for U.S. benefits.
• Ensure end-to-end accountability for benefits administration, including enrollment, eligibility, vendor management, employee issue resolution, and ongoing operations.
• Supervise compliance with federal, state, and local health, welfare, and retirement plan requirements.
• Act as a senior escalation point and subject-matter expert for complex benefits issues.
• Lead significant and complex benefits projects as well as recurring processes.
• Manage relationships with carriers, administrators, brokers, consultants, and other vendors.
• Promote continuous improvement in benefits processes, controls, documentation, and operating procedures.
• Oversee benefits cost stewardship by tracking utilization, cost drivers, vendor performance, budget adherence, and emerging risks.
• Implement approved cost-management strategies and assist in vendor negotiations, contract renewals, and pricing evaluations.
• Ensure accurate and controlled transmission of benefits data across HRIS, payroll, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Direct U.S. benefits communications for program changes, open enrollment, compliance notifications, and employee education.
• Manage and develop benefits analysts through coaching, prioritization, performance management, workload planning, and decision support.
• Foster team capability, accountability, and resilience through clear expectations, delegation, knowledge sharing, and leadership practices.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent experience.
• 8–12 years of progressive experience in benefits administration, analysis, or management.
• Proven experience managing complex benefits programs, vendor relationships, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience with Workday is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with Businessolver is a plus.
• Knowledge of benefits legislation and processes necessary to ensure plan compliance and appropriate plan administration.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to effectively communicate key messages to carriers, consultants, company leadership, HR, and employees.
