This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Assist clients with the enrollment process and updates to their health care and/or pension plans.
• Spend your day primarily on the phone, with opportunities to engage in chat and message center as you gain further experience.
• Deliver exceptional customer service in a remote work environment.
• Tailor your customer service approach to accommodate various communication styles and personalities while upholding professionalism and diplomacy during challenging calls.
• Protect confidential information (e.g., medical, health, financial, personal, etc.) with care and discretion, adhering to HIPAA and Data Privacy regulations as well as company data security protocols.
• Effectively simplify health and welfare and pension terminology, along with intricate plan details and processes, into clear explanations and instructions that customers can comprehend and act upon.
• Review and interpret client plan documents and online knowledgebase tools while gathering pertinent information to address requests/questions.
• Engage and collaborate with colleagues, supervisors, and other staff members in a respectful manner.
• Actively participate in team meetings and training sessions.
• Exceptional communication skills in English, both verbal and written, in a customer service context, ensuring grammatical accuracy.
• Ability to quickly evaluate member concerns and develop responses/resolutions using analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Capability to thrive in a structured environment – adhere to a set work schedule and breaks/lunches, follow established protocols, and meet standards of excellence.
• Strong attention to detail, multi-tasking abilities, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with the capability to manage multiple open computer windows while addressing inquiries via phone or instant messaging.
• Ability to work independently in a self-paced, self-motivated team setting.
• Comfortable operating in a virtual environment, which includes online training and interaction with Managers/Supervisors through chat.
• Ability to comprehend and follow both oral and written instructions.
• Capable of typing 30 words per minute.
• Experience in a customer service-related field is essential.
• High School diploma is required.
• An Associate or Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
• Familiarity with health and welfare and/or defined benefit pension plans is beneficial.
• Previous experience in a call center environment is preferred.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish is advantageous.
