This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Deliver specialized services to clients categorized as behavioral health clients.
• Organize and provide direct outpatient psychiatric care, primarily focusing on the MOUD program.
• Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic services as required.
• Prescribe necessary treatments for primary patient care and document relevant data for physician review.
• Act as a Mentor/Preceptor for student rotations as applicable.
• Prescribe medications using the clinic formulary when suitable and according to physician assistant protocols.
• Serve as a liaison with medical care resources when referrals are needed, adhering to established protocols, and requisition on-site and off-site lab services as necessary.
• Engage in case reviews during PCHH huddles.
• Maintain a caseload of BH Clients primarily diagnosed with Opioid Use disorders.
• Actively participate as a member of the therapeutic treatment team and contribute to the preparation and facilitation of treatment plans for each client.
• Assist in the daily clinical monitoring of BH staff and services to ensure quality care in clinical and operational aspects.
• Support the Psychiatrist and BH Directors in supervising Behavioral Health colleagues when required.
• Provide input as part of the clinical team to ensure clinical competency and uphold high standards of quality care within the behavioral health department.
• Assist in chart reviews to confirm appropriate documentation for services rendered.
• Participate in assigned clinical supervision groups and assist with supervisory responsibilities as directed by the Psychiatrist and Practice Manager.
• Maintain accurate and current client records, including daily progress notes for each client in treatment.
• Actively contribute to the development of a successful, culturally sensitive, therapeutic treatment program, providing suggestions, input, and feedback to achieve this objective.
• Serve on committees aligned with the agency’s mission and behavioral health services.
• Engage in continuing education activities, both on-site and off-site, when appropriate and feasible.
• Participate in staff conferences to create individual patient care plans and to revise and update clinic services.
• Coordinate and support care for Behavioral Health Services in the CommWell Health Market.
• Occasionally serve as a medical provider as needed in the CommWell Health market.
• May provide input on Behavioral Health staff Annual Performance Evaluations as necessary.
• BLS Certificate from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Current NCI+ Preventive Certification (Annual).
• Full licensure to practice medicine by the NC Board of Medical Examiners or Board of Nursing, with a valid license.
• National certification as a physician assistant or nurse practitioner.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience with the behavioral health population (Preferred).
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the MOUD program (Preferred).
• Certification in behavioral health (Preferred).
• Experience in prescribing psychotropic medications (Preferred).
