Behavioral Health Advocate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish and nurture ongoing, trust-based relationships with patients while offering continuous support, care coordination, and personalized guidance to meet individual needs.

• Evaluate and assess patients for behavioral health symptoms, assisting them in accessing behavioral health services such as therapy, psychiatry, and community resources.

• Collaborate with the care team to formulate, convey, and modify treatment recommendations as necessary.

• Work alongside patients to define measurable, individualized goals utilizing evidence-based methods (e.g., behavioral activation, problem-solving treatment, motivational interviewing).

• Employ validated screening instruments (e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7) to direct care, track patient progress, and proactively revise support strategies when required.

• Act as a liaison among patients, primary care providers, psychiatric consultants, and external behavioral health providers.

• Engage in caseload consultations with psychiatric consultants and coordinate follow-up recommendations with the care team.

• Ensure accurate, timely, and audit-ready documentation to facilitate high-quality care, measurement-based care delivery, and compliance with billing requirements.

• Collaborate with clinical and operations teams to enhance workflows and improve the patient experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a mental health-related field.

• 2 to 5 years of professional experience in behavioral health or a related area.

• Familiarity with measurement-based care and structured goal-setting techniques (e.g., SMART goals, PHQ-9/GAD-7 tracking).

• Strong capability to engage patients in goal-oriented, short-term interventions.

• Comfort in working within structured care models that entail documentation and care coordination responsibilities.

• Availability to work during Pacific Standard Time hours.
