This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Support DLB's essential projects, focusing primarily on building automation systems (BAS), Power Management Systems (PMS), controls integration, and smart building technologies.
• Provide technical and project leadership in the planning and design of BAS/PMS and integrated control systems.
• Develop and uphold DLB's controls standards.
• Collaborate closely with outsourced partners, MEP design engineers, construction contractors, equipment vendors, software engineers, project managers, and client representatives to ensure that systems are designed, integrated, and delivered in accordance with project requirements and client expectations.
• Oversee the scopes of work for subconsultants, including the development, review, and coordination of Statements of Objectives (SOO), construction drawings, and technical specifications.
• Ensure that subconsultant deliverables are complete, accurate, and compliant with project requirements, organizational standards, and relevant codes and regulations, utilizing the DLB QAQC process.
• Create and manage project deliverables, including design drawings, sequences of operations, and specifications.
• Assist in the creation of various engineering drawings in AutoCAD and Revit formats, which include floor plan drawings, system architecture diagrams, point-to-point wiring diagrams, and control panel diagrams.
• Identify potential changes in project scope and assist in developing strategies to minimize impacts and control deviations from estimated costs and project timelines.
• B.A. / B.S. degree in Engineering, construction, or related fields.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in BAS controls systems engineering.
• Familiarity with open-source protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and SNMP.
• Understanding of IoT and smart building solutions.
• Knowledge of standard data center control redundancy strategies.
• Proficient in the materials, methods, and tools associated with the construction of mission-critical commercial buildings or other structures.
• Competent in using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Proficient in the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) with exceptional organizational skills for file management.
• Ability to utilize AI and emerging technologies to enhance workflows, optimize operational processes, and support company-wide innovation.
• Capable of working successfully in a remote environment through effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness, and resourcefulness in a distraction-free workspace.
