This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Analyze realistic bankruptcy and restructuring situations.
• Examine legal cases related to Chapter 11 restructuring processes.
• Assess the quality, thoroughness, consistency, and practical applicability of legal analyses.
• Evaluate first-day motion packages, procedural strategies, requested relief, and the supporting legal rationale.
• Review Section 363 asset sales, including sale strategies, process considerations, and bid assessments.
• Analyze restructuring plans, treatment of creditor classes, classification, and objections to plans.
• Review synthetic restructuring matters and the associated documentation.
• Examine six anonymized legal deliverables labeled A–F.
• Conduct five direct comparisons against a common comparator output.
• Choose the superior legal work product based on substantive quality.
• Identify significant legal errors, omissions, unsupported conclusions, and vulnerabilities.
• Provide concise written justifications for every preference decision made.
• Reference relevant strengths, weaknesses, omissions, and pertinent legal or practical factors.
• Adhere to project guidelines and evaluation criteria consistently.
• Licensed attorney with substantial professional experience in bankruptcy, restructuring, or insolvency law.
• Strong background in one or more of the following areas: Chapter 11 proceedings, first-day motions, Section 363 sales, bid assessments, treatment of restructuring plans, or objections to plans.
• Capable of evaluating legal work comprehensively for accuracy, completeness, judgment, and practical applicability.
• Excellent legal analytical abilities.
• Proficient in precise written English.
• Comfortable comparing different legal strategies and articulating preference decisions.
• Able to work autonomously following detailed written guidelines and meeting deadlines.
• Use of external AI tools on project materials is prohibited.
• Work must be conducted without utilizing confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, institution, or third party.
• H1-B and STEM OPT support is not available for this position.
• Completely remote work environment.
• Part-time independent contractor role.
• Flexible project duration; projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project requirements and performance.
• Work on projects that are covered by confidentiality agreements and NDAs.
