This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Maintenance of hearing processes.
• Attending hearings and/or organizing local appearance counsel attendance ahead of the hearing with clear instructions regarding the expected outcome.
• Providing prompt hearing results both internally and to the client upon request.
• Management of portfolio.
• Reviewing and signing all pleadings promptly before client and/or court submission to ensure adherence to all internal and external regulations.
• Monitoring ECFs and dockets in real-time and escalating any actionable docket events.
• Ensuring that both internal and external systems (if applicable) are completed accurately and on time with information specific to the referral and case.
• Making sure that staff have accessible templates that comply with local and federal procedural rules, as well as any district or judge-specific regulations.
• Timely escalating, managing, and mitigating any identified risks related to files in which the firm or a current client has an interest.
• Offering Loan Level Support to Firm Staff and Clients.
• Responding to inquiries and communicating promptly with both firm staff and clients. Communication should include detailed guidance on necessary actions and provide thorough legal analysis of the situation at hand.
• Offering guidance to firm staff on the preparation of pleadings and/or providing templates to assist in the preparation.
• Collaborating with leadership to identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Keeping abreast of relevant case law affecting your designated jurisdictions as well as updates related to bankruptcy code or case law changes.
• An active bar admission for the state of employment with a member in good standing status.
• Admission or ability to gain admission to all bankruptcy courts within the state where you hold active bar membership.
• Experience in representing creditors in bankruptcy proceedings within the hired jurisdiction or a willingness to acquire bankruptcy knowledge.
• Capability to collaborate with others in a friendly and team-oriented manner.
• Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and adapt to ongoing changes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
