Backend Engineer – Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Lead a team by establishing a technical vision, resolving technical conflicts, and ensuring the successful delivery of solutions.

• Supervise daily operations, delegate tasks, and set deadlines and objectives.

• Stay updated on all web technologies, software architecture principles, and design patterns, focusing on continuous improvement.

• Implement appropriate engineering practices, such as fully automated development pipelines and testing.

• Comprehend the current lifecycle and development of new lifecycles with an emphasis on software quality processes.

• Collaborate closely with our infrastructure team and other tech leads to define and enhance our software and infrastructure architecture.

• Maintain a productive and inspiring work environment for development teams, actively participating in training, skill-building, coaching, monitoring performance, motivating the team, recognizing high performance, and rewarding achievements.

• Partner with the HR team and assist the Hiring Manager in the R&D process, focusing on the motivation and retention of new team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience as a Tech Lead/Team Lead with an emphasis on mentoring and developing engineering talent.

• Extensive experience (over 5 years) in web development.

• Strong expertise in our primary tech stack (Go and Node.js).

• Robust experience with CI/CD, automated testing strategies, and system observability.

• Strong background in event-driven/microservice architecture.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

• Exceptional time management and organizational abilities.

• Proactive approach, adaptable, problem solver, and decision-maker.

• Quality-focused processes, ensuring adherence to good coding practices.

• People-oriented mindset, capable of building strong relationships and motivating the team.

• Experience in HealthTech or regulated industries is a plus.
