Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Create, build, and sustain scalable, clean, and well-tested backend services utilizing Python and SQL.

• Develop security rule engines, perform policy evaluations, and establish threat detection systems within cloud APIs.

• Oversee, troubleshoot, and enhance backend systems to ensure high availability, microsecond latency, and overall stability.

• Work collaboratively with security researchers, frontend developers, API developers, and infrastructure teams to transform technical requirements into production-ready backend code.

• Engage with AWS Step Functions, Batch jobs, and execute Athena queries.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong expertise in Python, encompassing object-oriented programming, data structures, asynchronous coding, and testing frameworks.

• Basic understanding of cloud platforms, with a preference for AWS.

• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including VPCs, Security Groups, and Load Balancers.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or equivalent hands-on experience.

• 0–3 years of relevant experience; recent graduates with pertinent project or internship experience are encouraged to apply.

• Familiarity with stream processing, batch processing, or data pipeline tools like Glue, PySpark, or Pandas is advantageous.

• Proficient in SQL databases such as PostgreSQL.

• Understanding of Docker, CI/CD pipelines, or Infrastructure-as-Code tools like CloudFormation.
