Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Collaborate on a global scale: Partner closely with Octopus Energy ES and various international teams to create and implement new features for our website and mobile application.

• Take ownership of crucial product modules: Directly contribute to the private area, bill management, saving sessions, customer onboarding enhancements, and marketing dashboards.

• Create impactful solutions quickly: Produce code that has a direct effect on customers. Our priorities are responsive to real-world demands, resulting in a fast-paced environment with a gratifying feedback loop.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient spoken English is a must 🇬🇧. The team is diverse, so English will be the primary language used daily.

• Extensive professional experience in developing backend applications using **Python**.

• Robust experience with **Django** (or similar powerful web frameworks).

• Comprehensive understanding of **Domain Modelling** and software architecture.

• Strong expertise in designing and integrating **GraphQL & REST APIs**.

• Demonstrated experience in writing **robust, fault-tolerant, and scalable software**.

• Familiarity with **Celery** and asynchronous task processing.

• Proficient in managing relational databases, particularly **PostgreSQL**.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capability to navigate complex issues from concept to production.
