Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Engage in complex challenges related to backend application development, algorithms, system architecture, and production deployment.

• Create abstractions that reduce the need for custom code.

• Manage data dispersed across various systems.

• Work with a modern technology stack that includes Java, Spring, Hibernate, Redis, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, and AWS.

• Assess operational feasibility through the evaluation of analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.

• Take responsibility for the quality, total cost of ownership, maintainability, and security of the developed components.

• Review code authored by peers and provide constructive feedback to uphold best practices (e.g., style guidelines, code checking, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).

• Contribute to existing documentation or educational materials and modify content based on product or program updates and user feedback.

• Identify opportunities for innovation that can benefit multiple teams.

• Play a role in shaping company culture, engineering methodologies, and the product as an early team member.

• A strong problem solver who is enthusiastic about the art of software development.

• Possesses a thorough understanding of algorithms, data structures, and distributed systems.

• Has a minimum of 3 years of software engineering experience.

• Familiarity with the aforementioned technology stack is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Is ambitious, self-motivated, and proactive.

• Exhibits excellent communication abilities.
