Backend Developer – Node.js

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain backend solutions utilizing Node.js and Express, adhering to ECMAScript 6 or later standards.

• Design and create secure, scalable RESTful APIs.

• Model data and construct intricate queries in MongoDB, employing aggregation to enhance performance.

• Implement established design patterns while developing Node.js applications.

• Work with microservices architecture and messaging systems such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.

• Ensure smooth integration between frontend and backend systems.

• Utilize Git for version control and npm/yarn for managing dependencies.

• Engage with containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).

• Implement quality assurance and code analysis practices, which include automated testing (Jest, Mocha, or Chai).

• Execute application observability (logs, metrics, traces, and APMs) and analyze logs using Graylog to address incidents.

• Configure and deploy Node.js applications to production environments.

• Act as a technical reference, advising teams on coding, testing, and design best practices.

• Participate in technical refinement sessions, converting requirements into actionable solutions.

• Conduct code reviews, standardize development practices, and ensure the technical quality of deliverables.

• Evaluate technical risks, suggest mitigation strategies for issues and bottlenecks, and assist in removing technical obstacles.

• Facilitate communication between technical and business teams.

• Contribute to the technical organization and planning of sprints.

• Mentor and develop the technical talent within the team.

• Engage in the evolution of the system architecture.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

• Proficiency in Node.js with Express (utilizing ECMAScript 6 or later standards).

• Experience with MongoDB, particularly in creating complex queries using aggregation.

• Knowledge of TypeScript.

• Familiarity with Node.js design patterns.

• Expertise in RESTful APIs.

• Proficient in Git/Bitbucket (pull requests, version control, and branching).

• Experience in automated testing (Jest, Mocha, or similar).

• Understanding of SQL.

• Knowledge of API security best practices (OWASP Top 10, input sanitization, and rate limiting).

• Experience with authentication and authorization (JWT, OAuth 2.0).

• Familiarity with Java.

• Knowledge of Angular.

• Over 5 years of experience working with Node.js.

• Experience with financial or banking systems.

• Familiarity with financial, banking, or high-volume transaction systems.

• Knowledge of information security and Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD).
