Azure Platform Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Assume responsibility for the daily management of Arden’s Azure environment, ensuring robust security measures, optimizing performance and costs, and facilitating the delivery of dependable digital services throughout the university.

• Collaborate effectively with colleagues across Cyber Security, Infrastructure, Development, and IT Operations.

• Play a crucial role in upholding platform standards, assisting with incident and change management processes, and promoting best practices in cloud governance.

• Contribute to the advancement of cloud capabilities by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, bolster security, and support the university’s broader digital transformation goals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in administering and supporting Microsoft Azure environments within a medium to large organization.

• Strong comprehension of Azure governance principles, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Azure Policy, resource organization, naming conventions, tagging strategies, and subscription management.

• Experience in maintaining secure Azure platforms through the implementation of governance controls, baseline hardening, access management, and threat protection strategies.

• Solid understanding of cloud security best practices, including Zero Trust principles, identity governance, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and managed identities.

• Experience in implementing and upholding Azure platform standards in line with recognized cloud architecture and security best practices.

• Strong understanding of Azure networking, compute, storage, monitoring, and identity services.

• Experience in administering Microsoft Entra ID, including identity lifecycle management, access governance, authentication, and authorization controls.

• Experience in managing Microsoft 365 services, such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and related Azure integrations.

• Practical experience in supporting secure integration between Azure and Microsoft 365 workloads, including identity, security, and audit logging.

• Experience in supporting Azure security operations, including responding to security alerts, ensuring compliance with security baselines, and managing secure configurations across cloud resources.

• Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex platform, security, and operational issues in Azure environments.

• Experience contributing to Azure platform improvement initiatives, including governance enhancements, security optimization, and operational efficiency improvements.

• Experience working collaboratively with infrastructure, cyber security, and development teams to support cloud-based services and solutions.

• Understanding of cloud-native technologies, application hosting, CI/CD concepts, and secure deployment practices.

• Relevant Microsoft Azure certification (such as AZ-104, AZ-500, SC-300, AZ-305, Azure Enterprise Administrator Expert, or equivalent experience).
