Azure Cloud Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deploy and oversee Azure cloud infrastructure encompassing compute resources, virtual networks, storage solutions, and application services.

• Continuously monitor and enhance cloud system performance by tracking availability and performance metrics, proactively identifying and addressing issues before they affect operations.

• Establish and enforce security measures, including policies, best practices, and compliance requirements to protect cloud resources and sensitive data.

• Automate cloud operations and processes by crafting scripts and automation tools using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python to streamline repetitive tasks and minimize human error.

• Diagnose and resolve cloud-related issues, managing incidents with a focus on service restoration while collaborating with development and IT teams to reduce downtime.

• Oversee the rollout of patches and manage release processes, including scheduling and implementing system updates in accordance with organizational guidelines.

• Monitor and evaluate resource usage to uncover cost-saving opportunities and execute strategies for cloud cost optimization.

• Formulate and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data and application accessibility during unforeseen events.

• Collaborate with development teams to facilitate application deployment, assess new Azure services based on requirements, and propose architectural enhancements.

• Create and sustain comprehensive technical documentation for cloud infrastructure, configurations, processes, and operational procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Must possess a minimum of 8 years of experience in cloud engineering or cloud operations, primarily focusing on Microsoft Azure.

• Must hold an active AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator certification.

• Must have proven experience in deploying and managing Azure infrastructure, including compute, virtual networking, storage, and application services.

• Must have practical experience with automation and scripting using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python.

• Must have experience in implementing and enforcing cloud security policies and compliance frameworks within Azure environments.

• Must have experience with incident management, troubleshooting, and service restoration in a cloud operations setting.

• Must have a background in developing and maintaining backup and disaster recovery plans within Azure.

• Must hold an AZ-305: Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions certification.

• Must hold an AZ-500: Microsoft Azure Security Technologies certification.

• Experience with Azure cost management tools and strategies for resource optimization.

• Experience with patch and release management processes in an enterprise context.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or similar platforms.

• Strong technical documentation skills, with experience producing infrastructure and operational runbooks.
