
AWS Engineer – Data Platforms

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Lithuania.
• Design, develop, and manage scalable, cloud-native data pipelines and platform components on AWS.
• Construct and oversee ETL/ELT workflows, data lakes, and data mesh elements.
• Create, enhance, and debug PySpark-based data processing jobs for large-scale and time-series datasets.
• Design and administer data schemas, tables, permissions, and metadata utilizing AWS Glue Data Catalog and Lake Formation.
• Develop and maintain AWS Glue Jobs for data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration tasks.
• Construct and support event-driven architectures using AWS Lambda, SNS, SQS, and Step Functions.
• Integrate both internal and external systems via APIs employing AWS API Gateway and associated services.
• Monitor platform health, performance, and operational metrics through Amazon CloudWatch.
• Ensure that data processing across the platform is efficient, reliable, secure, and cost-effective.
• Contribute to Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment methodologies.
• Work closely with data platform, analytics, and product teams in an Agile (Scrum) setting.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services such as AWS Glue (Jobs and Data Catalog), Lake Formation, AWS Lambda, Amazon S3, Amazon Athena, AWS Step Functions, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon API Gateway, Amazon CloudWatch, Amazon SNS, and SQS.
• Demonstrated experience in data engineering, including the design, development, and management of ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Strong background working with data lakes, lakehouse architectures, and/or data mesh principles.
• Solid practical experience with Spark and PySpark for distributed data processing and performance enhancement.
• Proficient Python development skills.
• Familiarity with modern data formats such as Apache Iceberg and Parquet.
• Experience in integrating and utilizing APIs and data exchange services.
• Background in CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment strategies.
• Experience collaborating in cross-functional Agile (Scrum) teams.
• Proven capability to deliver production-grade, scalable, and maintainable cloud data solutions.
• Willingness and readiness to travel as project or client requirements dictate, which may involve occasional domestic or international travel, sometimes on short notice.
