This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Create and execute data ingestion solutions utilizing AWS database and cloud-native technologies.

• Design, manage, and enhance both relational and NoSQL database environments, encompassing Amazon RDS (PostgreSQL, Oracle), Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon Redshift, Amazon Athena, and Amazon S3.

• Employ AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) for migrating, replicating, and modernizing database environments.

• Investigate, assess, and suggest AWS data storage frameworks and database technologies to meet business and technical requirements.

• Conceptualize, develop, test, deploy, and automate database solutions, including infrastructure and database construction processes.

• Create automation and administrative scripts using Python and/or Bash.

• Oversee database usage, performance, and capacity; perform performance tuning and provide system optimization recommendations.

• Formulate and execute indexing strategies, replication, backup, and disaster recovery solutions across various AWS Regions.

• Develop, test, implement, and sustain SQL code, stored procedures, database applications, and other database entities.

• Design scalable, secure, and resilient data models that support transactional, analytical, and hybrid workloads.

• Construct and maintain cloud-based Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, and contemporary enterprise data platforms.

• Lead the design and execution of modern database architectures that facilitate cloud migration and application modernization initiatives.

• Ensure database security, access controls, and data integrity to safeguard organizational information assets.

• Develop and enforce policies, standards, procedures, and governance practices for database administration.


⛳️ Requirements

• 8 years of experience with a BS/BA; a minimum of 6 years with an MS/MA; a minimum of 3 years with a PhD, or 12 years of experience in place of a degree.

• Must possess an active Secret security clearance.

• Current CompTIA Security+ or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification is mandatory.

• Demonstrated experience in Agile software development environments.

• Proficient in DevSecOps tools and practices, including GitLab, Artifactory, and SonarQube.

• Expert-level knowledge of SQL and experience managing relational and NoSQL database management systems.

• Strong grasp of database design, performance tuning, security, backup and recovery, and high-availability architectures.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the capability to collaborate effectively across technical teams.
