AWS Adjunct Instructor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Available to instruct synchronous online courses via Microsoft Teams every Monday and Tuesday.

• Design and structure lessons to enhance student learning and engagement.

• Adjust instructional methods and strategies as necessary to cater to the diverse needs of students.

• Utilize suitable teaching and learning techniques to effectively communicate subject matter to students.

• Exhibit comprehensive and precise knowledge of their field or discipline.

• Relate their subject matter to associated fields.

• Stay updated in their subject area through professional development, participation in professional organizations, and attendance at professional meetings, conferences, or workshops.

• Maintain a fully updated and accurate Student Database concerning student attendance and grade records at all times.

• Ensure adherence to accreditation standards related to instructional quality, scheduled class hours, and CIAT policies and procedures.

• Provide necessary documentation including sign-in attendance, pre-post exams, lab sheets, student snapshots, and other accreditation/state-required documents as needed.

• Communicate with management regarding requirements for textbooks, handouts, supplies, equipment, exam vouchers, and other necessary items with adequate notice to facilitate timely and cost-effective procurement before classes.

• Encourage collaboration with other staff members and engage in the implementation of new projects and ideas.

• Comply with CIAT's business casual dress code, ensuring clothing is neat, clean, and free from rips and holes. CIAT polo t-shirts and pressed jeans are acceptable, but t-shirts, caps, hooded sweaters, and shorts are prohibited.

⛳️ Requirements

• Information Technology Instructors must provide official transcripts of a bachelor's degree or higher (from an accredited institution) and relevant certification in the subject matter being taught.

• We seek instructors holding the following certifications: AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Security Specialty, AWS Database, or AWS Cloud Practitioner.

• A minimum of three years' experience in the relevant field OR two years of teaching experience is required.

• Synchronous online teaching experience is preferred.

• Advanced subject matter expertise is favored, along with a commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about developments in the field.

• Strong presentation, communication, and technology skills are essential.

• Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications, including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as learning technologies like Canvas.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a high degree of reliability.

• Capable of multitasking effectively.

• Quick and efficient problem-solving skills are necessary.

• Ability to collaborate with colleagues, academic departments, and administration to support student success, achieve institutional goals, and foster a positive and inclusive culture.

• Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that acknowledges the diversity of students' backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.

• Awareness of current trends, best practices, and teaching methodologies in higher education.

• Proven capacity to deliver engaging and effective lesson plans that address the diverse needs of students.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively share information and engage with students, colleagues, and others.
