AVP, Contract Surety Manager – West Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Formulate and implement a strategic business plan aimed at broadening the company’s operations in the United States, particularly in the Western Region.

• Create and manage a profitable Surety business portfolio through engagement with both existing and prospective broker partnerships.

• Ensure that all decisions and recommendations are documented consistently and with transparency.

• Build and nurture essential relationships while developing a regional underwriting team.

• Execute account and portfolio underwriting activities in line with the company’s underwriting guidelines and portfolio management standards.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Americas and globally to utilize surety capabilities and the established customer base.

• Collaborate with global Surety teams regarding risk and underwriting matters.

• Engage in industry associations and local surety events.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with a focus on business, economics, or finance.

• Over 7 years of relevant industry experience.

• Entrepreneurial mindset to set and accomplish goals and objectives.

• Proven history of developing business with brokers.

• Demonstrated ability to underwrite and expand a Surety portfolio.

• Experience in creating and managing marketing strategies, business plans, and budgets.

• Familiarity with Surety distribution channels and experience in managing relationships with regional brokers.

• Established expertise in underwriting surety accounts and assessing risks.

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
