AVP, Contract Surety Manager – Central Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Formulating and implementing a strategic business plan aimed at expanding our operations within the United States, particularly in the Central Region.

• Creating and managing a profitable portfolio of Surety business through proactive engagement in the Surety marketplace with both existing and prospective broker relationships.

• Recording all decisions and recommendations in a consistent and transparent manner.

• Establishing and nurturing key relationships while developing a regional underwriting team.

• Conducting account and portfolio underwriting activities in alignment with the underwriting guidelines and portfolio management standards set by the company.

• Collaborating with colleagues throughout the Americas and internationally to maximize surety capabilities and leverage the existing customer base.

• Coordinating with global Surety teams to ensure consistency on risk and underwriting matters.

• Actively engaging in industry groups and local surety events.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with a focus on business, economics, or finance.

• Over 7 years of relevant industry experience.

• An entrepreneurial mindset to set and accomplish goals and objectives.

• Proven history of developing business relationships with brokers.

• Demonstrated ability to underwrite and expand a Surety portfolio.

• Experience in creating and managing marketing plans, business strategies, and budgets.

• Familiarity with Surety distribution channels and experience in nurturing relationships with regional brokers.

• Recognized expertise in the underwriting of surety accounts and associated risks.

• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
