AVP, Assistant General Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Offer guidance and assistance on various legal matters related to Practice operations and transactions.

• Build and sustain client relationships with local-practice and business-team partners, enabling the identification of legal risks and issues arising from daily operations, contractual agreements, and business transactions, while collaboratively creating solutions.

• Advise practice leadership on proposed arrangements and intricate legal issues.

• Prepare and negotiate a diverse array of contracts and legal documents.

• Mediate business agreements and resolve legal conflicts.

• Aid in the development and enhancement of processes and systems that facilitate the provision of outstanding legal services throughout a nationwide organization.

• Assist business counterparts in managing audits or litigation matters.

• Oversee and coordinate matters with external counsel.

• Provide counsel on the Practice’s corporate governance documents and frameworks.

⛳️ Requirements

• J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

• Licensed to practice law and a member in good standing of a state bar.

• Over 6 years of combined experience in corporate, transactional, and operations roles at a law firm and within a healthcare company, with a strong preference for healthcare services.

• In-depth understanding of legal and business considerations associated with healthcare services.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills in both legal and business environments.

• Strong interpersonal abilities that foster an open and active rapport with clients.

• Excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to independently prioritize competing tasks.

• Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
