This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Lead a team in the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes, and associated disclosures.
• Supervise the creation of financial reporting packages for lenders, the board, and other external stakeholders.
• Ensure financial reporting is precise, timely, and adheres to U.S. GAAP standards.
• Collaborate with the CAO and CFO on major company readiness initiatives.
• Coordinate with external auditors regarding reporting issues.
• Direct accounting analysis and conclusions for intricate transactions, including business combinations, consolidations and noncontrolling interests, debt and equity transactions, stock-based compensation, lease accounting, medical malpractice accounting, and the creation of accounting position papers and technical memoranda.
• Act as the primary contact for external auditors on technical accounting issues.
• Oversee the accounting team responsible for internally developed software, including capitalization and amortization under ASC 350-40.
• Enhance processes for accurately and promptly capturing and recording technology-related expenditures.
• Improve communication and collaboration with technology leadership.
• Assist in accounting for software licensing and technology commercialization initiatives.
• Ensure uniform accounting treatment across the Clinical and Technology segments.
• Lead and nurture high-performing teams in the areas of financial reporting, technical accounting, and technology accounting.
• Build a scalable organization capable of supporting a multi-billion-dollar enterprise.
• Promote a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Embody the accounting organization’s philosophy of being “brilliant with the basics.”
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s degree preferred).
• CPA certification is required.
• 10-15+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong preference for Big 4 public accounting experience.
• Experience within a large, complex organization.
• Public company/SEC experience is preferred.
• Preference for multi-currency and international accounting experience.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Strong experience in technical accounting research and memo preparation.
• Proven experience in leading and developing teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to influence across functions and communicate effectively with senior leadership and external auditors.
