AV Field Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Install, terminate, label, test, and troubleshoot commercial audiovisual systems at customer job sites.

• Read and interpret AV schematics, signal-flow diagrams, rack elevations, wiring schematics, and construction drawings.

• Diagnose system problems and isolate issues related to signal, control, audio, video, cabling, network-connected devices, or installation quality.

• Conduct light commissioning tasks, including device verification, system functionality checks, basic configuration validation, and punch-list completion.

• Safely and properly utilize AV test equipment, hand tools, and power tools.

• Collaborate with project managers, programmers, commissioning engineers, field leads, and customer representatives.

• Document job site conditions, completed tasks, outstanding issues, and recommended next steps through daily updates and field reports.

• Identify scope gaps, drawing discrepancies, missing equipment, or site-readiness issues, and escalate as necessary.

• Provide technical support and guidance to installers and junior field personnel when assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in commercial AV installation and field troubleshooting.

• Proficient understanding of integrated audio, video, control, conferencing, and display systems.

• Capability to read AV line drawings and construction plans and apply them effectively in the field.

• Ability to methodically troubleshoot commercial AV systems and clearly communicate findings.

• Experience with commercial AV control, DSP, conferencing, and networked AV platforms.

• Capacity to work independently while effectively coordinating with a larger project team.

• Valid driver's license.

• Willingness to travel to job sites as required.

• AVIXA CTS certification is preferred but not mandatory.

• AVIXA CTS-I certification is preferred but not mandatory.
