Automation QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain automated testing frameworks utilizing tools such as Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Tosca, or Katalon.

• Execute comprehensive testing across web, database, and API layers.

• Leverage AI technologies to enhance QA processes and accelerate testing cycles.

• Implement user-focused testing methodologies to uncover real-world edge cases and usability shortcomings.

• Work in collaboration with developers to troubleshoot issues, validate fixes, and enhance release quality.

• Propose process enhancements and foster a culture centered on product reliability and excellence.

• Evaluate testing outcomes, maintain documentation, and consistently enhance automation coverage.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in QA automation or software testing.

• In-depth knowledge of automation testing tools (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Tosca, or Katalon).

• Familiarity with AI tools geared towards product QA and workflow automation.

• Expertise in database testing and API validation.

• Strong logical reasoning, problem-solving abilities, and meticulous attention to detail.

• Capacity to think critically and creatively, understanding both technical and user perspectives.

• Quick learner with the ability to adapt to changing tools and testing environments.

• Experience in performance or load testing (Nice-to-Have).

• Exposure to DevOps pipelines and CI/CD integrations (Nice-to-Have).

• Knowledge of JavaScript, Python, or similar scripting languages (Nice-to-Have).

• Awareness of UX testing principles or accessibility standards (Nice-to-Have).
