Automation Prompt Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Data Operations and Governance to pinpoint high-value opportunities for AI and automation within data delivery and data quality processes.

• Create compact, self-sufficient, plug-and-play solutions — including prompts, low-code workflows, scripts, and lightweight agents — that enhance efficiency without necessitating large models or complex systems.

• Convert governance rules, definitions, and taxonomies into prompt and automation logic that yields precise and consistent outcomes.

• Rapidly prototype, assess operational impact, and refine solutions based on actual results and feedback from validators.

• Implement solutions into production data operations and facilitate adoption, monitoring, and transition.

• Identify situations where a need surpasses the capabilities of a contained solution, and act as a liaison for larger-scale deployment by assisting in defining actionable requirements for engineering and platform teams.

• Maintain prompt libraries, automation resources, and documentation with clear version control.

• Monitor solution performance against metrics of scale, efficiency, accuracy, and consistency, while reporting on realized improvements.

• Stay updated on AI and automation methodologies as well as responsible-AI practices, sharing insights across teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in data, operations, analytics, classification, or a domain-specific role.

• Practical experience with AI/LLM tools, prompt design, and low-code or automation platforms.

• Proven ability to identify, construct, and implement practical, self-contained automation solutions that enhance workflows.

• Good judgment in scoping — recognizing when a problem is suitable for a small, contained solution versus when escalation to a larger build is warranted.

• Strong understanding of the data and processes involved in automation.

• Analytical mindset with a comfort level in measuring impact and iterating towards improved results.

• Capability to translate governance rules and definitions into prompt and automation logic, as well as into clear requirements as necessary.

• A citizen-developer mindset — focusing on building with AI and low-code tools rather than relying on extensive engineering.

• Awareness of responsible-AI considerations such as accuracy, bias, and human oversight.

• Excellent written communication skills; precision in language is essential to this role.
